Senior Protrait FAQs
Q:  Why aren’t senior portraits done closer to graduation?
A:  We start taking senior portraits this time of year in order to meet the deadlines given to us by your school.  Please keep in mind that we photograph every student in your senior class. After everyone submits a proof for the yearbook, each image is carefully retouched and processed for the senior section of the yearbook.
Q:  Do I need to come to my child’s sitting?
A:  Although it is not necessary, we strongly recommend you attend the sitting to ensure that your child’s expressions are natural and to your satisfaction. Please keep in mind that our photographer does not know your child and therefore does not know the difference between a “good smile” and a “bad smile”. If you are not satisfied with your proofs and wish to have retakes done, it is a $10.00 sitting fee.
Q:  What happens if I can’t make it to my appointment?
A:  Please call our studio to reschedule your appointment.  There is a 24 hour cancellation policy.  If you fail to cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance, you will be charged a $10.00 cancellation fee.
Q:  At what location will the portraits be taken?
A:  Please reference the enclosed appointment sheet.
Q:  Will my proofs be retouched?
A:  In order to get your proofs to you in a timely manner, your proofs will not be retouched or color corrected. The pose you choose for the yearbook will automatically be retouched.
Q: How long do I have to decide on a yearbook pose?
A: Your school has given us a yearbook deadline that we must meet.  In order to meet the deadline we must have your yearbook selection/order within 10-15 days of receiving your proofs.
Q. Do I have to send back all the proofs to Schoolcraft?
A. No. Only send back the proofs you have chosen to order from and your yearbook selection. The rest of the proofs are yours to keep.
Q. How will Schoolcraft know what I want printed in each of the poses I have selected and which pose I would like to appear in the yearbook?
A. Write clearly on the back of each proof you have selected what you would like to order in that pose. Be sure to indicate which pose you have selected for the yearbook. Once your order is received, we will review your selections and contact you if any questions should arise.
Q. What type of pose can I pick for the yearbook?
A. Each school we photograph has different yearbook requirements. Please refer to the insert that you received with your proofs. This is where you can find the specific requirements for your school.
Q. Can I divide a package among more than one pose?
A. Yes. Please be aware that you cannot break up units. (See Diagram 1 on Page 5 of your order form) For example if you are ordering 2-5x7 you cannot divide them between two poses because 5x7s come two on a sheet. If you are ordering 8 wallets you cannot have 4 wallets in one pose and 4 in a different pose because they come 8 on a sheet.
Q. How long will it take to receive my order?
A. Please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery.
Q. Are my proofs color corrected or retouched?
A. No. Please look at your proofs and select the photos you like based on your expression and pose. Color corrections and retouching will not be done until we process your final order.
Q. How does retouching work for senior portraits?
A. There is no charge for the retouching of your yearbook selection. If you order portraits in poses other then the yearbook pose there is a $10 charge per pose. All facial blemishes and shine will be removed off your final prints.
Q. Is there an option to have more retouching done to my portraits other than what was mentioned above?
A. Yes. Please see the insert that came with your proofs for prices on specialty retouching such as braces, teeth whiting, hair, scars, tan lines etc...
